Rotary rolls out road safety campaign

Rotary Club of Chandigarh with Chandigarh Traffic Police  rolled out its 'Suraksha' campaign and affixed reflector stickers on about 400 cycles in the labour chowk in Sector 44 here today in the morning.
Club President Rtn Vinod Kapoor informed that under the able guidance of DSP (Traffic )  Jaswinder Singh, the campaign was started at the labour chowk where all daily wagers gather in the morning.
Sub Inspector Dr Parvesh Sharma said that cyclists are most vulnerable at night and do not get seen causing major accidents involving them. She was accompanied by the Cycle Squad team of Chandigarh Traffic Police.
Vinod Kapoor said that we have started road safety campaign to check out bicycles in the city and affix reflectors where these are missing so that their lives could be saved.
A number of Rotarians along with Rotractors reached there and affixed stickers, and would be taking the campaign to different parts of the city till maximum reflectors are fixed, said the coordinator of the programme in Rotary Club Rtn Abha Sharma.
