68th National Film Award for Best Investigative Film in Panjabi

In Poonch area, portrait of Brig Pritam Singh adorns the walls of many homes, and he is fondly remembered as 'SherPutar' or the saviour of Poonch.
Chandigarh-based Karanvir Singh Sibia, enamoured by his personality and daredevilry, during his visit to Poonch in 2018 decided to produce a movie on him and ultimately accomplished the feat by producing an 80-minute gripping documentary, "The Saviour-Brig Pritam Singh".The movie has been adjudged as the Best Investigative Film to receive the 68th National Film Award.
Karanvir Sibia recalled that his father late Sardar Gurbax Singh Sibia, was a good friend of Brig Pritam Since who had settled down at village Deh Kalan near Sangrur, which was allotted to him after receiving the British Military Cross for his world-famous great escape from the enemy camps in Singapore and trudged 3300 miles for six months to reach Indian border.
"Brig Pritam Singh is an unsung, little-known hero of the first post-independence Indian war in Poonch whose story needed to be shared with our generation says Karanvir Singh Sibia.
"This National award is the greatest tribute to this 'SherPutar", says Dr Paramjeet Singh Kattu, who directed the movie.
The role of Pritam Singh has been enacted by Dhanveer Singh of 'Dasvin' fame and Salim of Abbas Ali's popular theatre production "Mughal-e-Azam", along with Mahavir Bhullar (of Border and Ghazni fame), Palli Sandhu (Kesri), with musical score by Manav Shrotriya, and period costumes by Raj Bhullar.
Renowned character actor of Hindi cinema Zakir Hussain has lent his voice to the documentary.
