Bhavan Vidyalaya and Vivek High School win Best Delegates awards in Model United Nations

Chandigarh, June 15:  In the recently concluded Model United Nations (BVC MUN 2020) organized by Bhavan Vidyalaya Chandigarh,  Gaurav Dhir of Bhavan Vidyalaya and Tanisha of Vivek High School won the Best Delegate awards on Sunday.
The two-days BVC MUN 2020 saw participation of 290 students fro over 80 renowned schools, including 14 international schools from Australia, USA, Sri Lanka, UAE, Lebanon, Bosnia, Pakistan and the United Kingdom through online video conference.
Young participants debated and discussed issues assailing the present world including achieving sustainability, peace, justice climate change, and interstate conflict with the theme "From Regression to Expression".
Amongst the Best Delegate awardees included two youngsters from Pakistan, namely Hassan Aulakh and Saad Atif of Aitchison College, Lahore;  Lovisha Jindal of DPS Panipat; Asher Kaul of DPS Noida, Purunjay Chawla of Sanskrit School, Delhi; Arhaan Sawhney of Sri Ram School, Moulsari; Raghav of Ryan International, Vasant Kunj, New Delhi, and Medhansh Kumar of DPS International Saket, besides two Chandigarh delegates, Gaurav Dhir of Bhavan and Tanisha of Vivek.
Senior Principal of the School Mrs Vineeta Arora said that BVC MUN has provided platform to young minds not only to hone their debating skills, but also understanding different perspectives from the stand points of countries other than their own.
Armaan Misra, Director General said that inspite of the frenzy involved in the stsate of affairs encompassing present day scenario, we at BVCMUN 2020 have tried to introspect and relinquish prejudices and reassess where we as individuals stand in grand order of society.
Chief of Staff BVCMUN, Armaan Angra remarked that we have always strived to englishten core human values of empathy, and cooperation and have become catalyst in this journey from pression to expression.
Concluding the session, Secretary General Prabhav Sharma said that in this age of physical distancing, social solidarity is crucial in order to generate a culture of sharing ideas while being challenged by systematic oppression  globally.
The conference concluded on a jubiliant and ebullient note.
