The Chandigarh Literary Society (CLS) organised the launch of Rajni Sekhri Sibal's book "Fragrant Words" here today at the UT Guest House.
The event witnessed the attendance of members of the literary society, as also many eminent writers of the city, and friends and family members of the author.
The event also witnessed a distinguished panel, including Prof. Manju Jaidka, former professor and chairperson of Dept. of English, Panjab University and Chairperson of the Chandigarh Sahitya Akademi; former IPS officer Mr. V.K. Kapoor; motivational speaker, writer and former IAS, Vivek Atray.
The panelists engaged in an enriching discussion about the book as well as the art of reading and writing a captivating narrative.
Rajni Sekhri Sibal also read out a few poems from her book and shared anecdotes from her writing journey with the audience. Writing has always been a part of my life, she says.
"Fragrant Words" is a collection of poems that she has penned over the years which are reflective of different themes in life ranging from work and career to nature and the mountains, to relationships and also memories.
Previously, she has authored another collection of verses - "Clouds and Beyond" and also "Kamadhenu: Cows of India" - a coffee table book on the subject.
An alumnus of Welham GIrl's school, Rajni Sekhri Sibal is a science graduate and also holds masters degrees in Psychology and Economics from Panjab University. An IAS Officer of the Haryana Cadre, she is presently posted as the Secretary to the Govt. of India, having earlier served as Additional Secretary Ministry of Home Affairs, Govt. of India. In her previous assignments, she has also worked in the Ministry of Skill Development and Ministry of Agriculture.
CLS regularly organizes meet the author programmes, writing competitions and two-days annual literature festival, Literati, which is scheduled for 23-24 November this year.
