AURO GIRL SHINES AT JR. NATIONAL SILAT CHAMPIONSHIP


Pooja Sharma of Class IX at Sri Aurobindo School of integral education  bagged a Silver medal in Junior National Pencak Silat Championship held at JNDU Amritsar. More than five hundred players from different states participated in the championship.
Pooja won a Silver medal in the 51 – 55 kg category after beating her opponents from Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh and Bihar.
The Chairman, Mr Arvind Mehan and the Principal, Mrs Garima S Bhardwaj congratulated the young achiever and motivated her to get ready for Gold at the next National level Championship.

Sjhri Aurobindo School celebrates Janamashtami



To seek the blessings of Lord Krishna, Sri Aurobindo School of Integral Education, Chandigarh celebrated Janamashtmi with great mirth and zeal. Students of class V  presented a special assembly. The children dressed-up as Lord Sri Krishna, Radha, Gopikas and other various characters. They beautifully depicted the life history of Lord Krishna. The celebration was truly educating and entertaining. The Chairman, Mr. Arvind Mehan and the Principal, Mrs. Garima S Bhardwaj blessed the students on this auspicious occasion.

Deepanshi of Sri Aurobindo wins Inter-School Poster Making Competition



Deepanshi, Class Vi student of Sri Aurobindo School of Integral Education, bagged the first prize in the Ego&Eco Inter-School Poster Making Competition held at the Knowledge Bus Global School Mohali.

The Specially Abled Students of Bhavan Vidyalaya, Chandigarh celebrated the festival of Janamasthmi in its true spirit here today. 

Students dressed in colourful costumes gleefully participated in Janmashtami celebrations. 

They enjoyed taking turns on floral bedecked swings, dancing to the music and enjoying sweet goodies, which were distributed to them. 

Special educators recounted anecdotes and stories from the life of Lord Krishna.

Senior Principal Mrs Vineeta Arora and Vice Principal Mrs. Suparna Bansal interacted with the students and took part in the celebrations.

भवन विद्यालय, चंडीगढ़ के विशेष रूप से अभिषिक्त छात्रों ने आज स्कूल परिसर में जन्माष्टमी का त्योहार मनाया।

जन्माष्टमी समारोह में उल्लासपूर्वक रंग-बिरंगे परिधानों में सजे छात्र-छात्राओं ने भाग लिया। उन्होंने फूलों से सजे झूलों का आनंद लिया, संगीत पर नृत्य किया और मिठाई  का आनंद लिया, जो उन्हें वितरित की गईं। विशेष शिक्षकों ने भगवान कृष्ण के जीवन के उपाख्यानों और कहानियों को सुनाया।

वरिष्ठ प्रिंसिपल श्रीमती विनीता अरोड़ा और वाइस प्रिंसिपल श्रीमती। सुपर्णा बंसल ने छात्रों के साथ इस समारोह में भाग लिया।

Special Olympics Table Tennis State Meet

Bhavan students bag the first position in three categories


A Table Tennis Meet is being organised as part of the Special Olympics Bharat Chandigarh Chapter for the special athletes of the tricity. Thirty-seven special athletes from various institutions for students with special needs participated in the one-of-a-kind event. Differently-abled students from Bhavan Vidyalaya, Sector 27, SOREM School (Society for the Rehabilitation of the Mentally Challenged), GRID -31, Asha Chandimandir, Sadhana School, Manimajra, Astha Therapeutic Centre, Mohali, Umeed Ashakiran Airforce are competing in the Singles, Doubles and Mixed Doubles events in the 12-15 years, 16-21 years and 22 years and above categories. 
Senior Principal, Bhavan Vidyalaya Chandigarh, Mrs Vineeta Arora inaugurated the Opening Ceremony as Chief Guest. Ms Neelu Sarin, Area Director, Special Olympics, Chandigarh was also present at the event and offered a warm welcome to the Chief Guest and participants. 

The men’s singles in various categories were held today. Bhavan Vidyalya Chandigarh bagged first positions in Division M02, M03, and M04 categories while bagged the third position in Division M01.

Leadership Lesson for Class II and III



Sri Aurobindo School of Integrated Learning, Chandigarh organized 'Let's Talk' Session for students of Class II and III.  Principal Garima S Bhardwaj was not only flooded with varied questions from the tiny-tots who also received lessons in leadership qualities.
Principal Garima told that communication is the key to confidence and ability to hold one's own in any situation is possible through leadership abilities. 

Bhavan Vidyala Chandigarh wins Inter-School Debate Competition











The final round of Oratio, the Interschool English Debate Competition conducted by Bhavan Vidyalaya Chandigarh concluded here today. Twelve finalists deliberated on the relevance of Gandhian Principles in contemporary times. 

Anhad Kaur of Class XII, Bhavan Vidyalaya Chandigarh bagged the first prize.  Ahona Mandal of Delhi Public School, Chandigarh stood second and Aekam Mohan SIngh of St. John's School stood third.

Neeral Raina of Saupins School, Chandigarh got the consolation prize while Riti Krishnan and Raunaq Singh Bawa won the award for the Best Interjection.

Chief Guest Mr. Ruberderjit Singh Brar, Director Public Instructions (Schools) and Higher Education, UT Chandigarh complimented the students for the enlightening views and said that Gandhian principles can never be undermined which have continued to guide us for centuries and have motivated many world leaders like Dalai Lama and Barack Obama.

Chandigarh Administration is working out a new education policy which would change the way we look at education, and would also, be participating in PISA 2021 (Programme for International Students Assessment) as per Prime Minister's vision, Mr Brar said.

Mr. RK Saboo, Chairman and patron of Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Chandigarh complimented the students for their participation and providing a glimpse of Gandhi's thoughts.

Bhavan Vidyalaya Chandigarh has planned a series of year-long activities for the students to delve into the deeper meaning of Gandhian philosophy and its relevance in the modern world.

The Judging panel included a team of erudite individuals, namely, Col (Retd) P.K. Vasudeva, Senior Professor, ICFAI Business School & University Business School, Panjab University:  Mrs. Harjit Vasudev, Director (Retd) Regional Institute of English, Chandigarh and Mrs. Archana Verma Singh, Assistant Professor of English Literature, SD College, Chandigarh.

Chandigarh, August 15: The students of Sri Aurobindo School, Chandigarh celebrated the 73rd Independence Day of India which also coincides with the birth anniversary of the legendary freedom fighter, Sri Aurobindo Ghosh, with great enthusiasm and respect.
Children sang Sanskrit verses 'Bhavani Bharti' composed by Sri Aurobindo, while school rock band presented patriotic songs in tribute to martyrs who sacrificed their lives for free of the country.
School Chairman Arvind Mehan and Principal Garima S Bhardwaj unfurled the flag and urged children to rise above caste, colour, class, religion and unite in peace for progress.

Bhavan Vidyalaya Business Quiz Held

The finals of the fourth edition of intra-school business quiz competition (BBQ) was
 held today at Bhavan Vidyalaya Sector 27, Chandigarh.  
BBQ spanned over the last one month with three rounds comprising case study analysis, creation of business plan and problem-solving, decision making, etc were held and out of twenty-three teams from Class XI to XII, six qualified for the finals today.
The team of Riva, Kanav, Divyam and Srishti secured the First position, while Armaan, Raunaq, Vaishnavi and Saksham came Second.  The team comprising Jaskaran, Anjali, Chaitanya and Mohit won the Third position.

The winners were felicitated by Senior Principal Mrs. Vineeta Arora who complimented the organising committee, Ascension Student Company for the impeccable arrangements, and also applauded the winners and asked them to keep the enthusiasm and business spirit alive in them.

Inter School Debate Competition on 150 years of Mahatma held

Interschool Debate Competition on 150 years of the Mahatma held

Bhavan Vidyalaya, Chandigarh organised the first round of Interschool English Debate Competition to commemorate the 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi this year.

Twenty-two contestants from various schools debated on two topics: Ahimsa Paramo Dharma- non-violence is the greatest virtue, and Gandhiji's ideology of universal development has lost its meaning. 

Contestants put forth relevant arguments for and against the topics followed by a rebuttal round where the audience and other participants questioned the speaker. Contestants were judged on the basis of content and thematic relevance, pronunciation and diction, confidence and rebuttals.

An eminent judging panel consisting of Dr Ashu Pasricha, Chairperson, Department of Gandhian and Peace Studies, Punjab University, Ms. Jagmeeta Thind Joy, accomplished journalist and freelance writer and Ms. Praveen Sharda, HOD, University School of Open Learning added colour to the event.

They shared their valuable insights on the topic with the participants and congratulated the speakers on their fiery arguments.  

The final round of the event is to be held on the 17th of August where 12 selected finalists shall debate on whether Gandhian Principles are still relevant in contemporary society.

 


भवन विद्यालय में महात्मा गाँधी के 150 साल के सन्दर्भ  में इंटरस्कूल वाद-विवाद प्रतियोगिता  का आयोजन

भवन विद्यालय, चंडीगढ़ ने इस वर्ष महात्मा गांधी की 150 वीं जयंती मनाने के लिए इंटर्स्कूल इंग्लिश डिबेट प्रतियोगिता का पहला दौर आयोजित किया।

विभिन्न स्कूलों के 22  प्रतियोगियों ने दो विषयों पर बहस की: अहिंसा परमो धर्म- अहिंसा सबसे बड़ा गुण है; और गांधीजी की सार्वभौमिक विकास की विचारधारा ने अपना अर्थ खो दिया है।

प्रतिभागियों ने एक खंडन दौर के बाद और दर्शकों और अन्य प्रतिभागियों ने स्पीकर से प्रशन भी पूछे  जिसके प्रतियोगियों ने प्रासंगिक तर्क दिए। प्रतियोगियों को विषय की जानकारी ,और विषयगत प्रासंगिकता, उच्चारण और आत्मविश्वास के आधार पर आंका गया।

इस प्रतियोगिता को  प्रतिष्ठित पैनल ने जज किया, जिसमें शामिल थे, डॉ आशु पसरीचा, गांधीवादी और शांति अध्ययन विभाग, पंजाब विश्वविद्यालय, सुश्री जगमीता थिंड जॉय, निपुण पत्रकार और स्वतंत्र लेखक और सुश्री प्रवीण शारदा, एचओडी, यूनिवर्सिटी स्कूल ऑफ़ ओपन लर्निंग के अध्यक्ष

उन्होंने प्रतिभागियों के साथ इस विषय पर अपनी बहुमूल्य अंतर्दृष्टि साझा की और वक्ताओं को उनके उग्र तर्कों पर बधाई दी।

इस आयोजन का अंतिम दौर 17 अगस्त को होना है, जहां 12 चयनित फाइनलिस्ट इस बात पर बहस करेंगे कि क्या समकालीन समाज में गांधीवादी सिद्धांत अभी भी प्रासंगिक हैं।

Sri Aurobindo School wins Bronze in Table Tennis Tournament


The Table tennis team of school brought laurels to the school by winning the third position in Inter School Table Tennis Tournament organised by the Department of Education at Table Tennis Hall, Sector 23, Chandigarh.
Sixteen teams from various schools of Tricity participated in the tournament. The Aurobindo players Priyanshu, Hari Singh, Ritvik, Mrityuanjay and Prakhar showed real grit and determination and performed incredibly well during the highly competitive matches.
The Chairman, Mr.Arvind Mehan and the Principal, Mrs. Garima S Bhardwaj lauded the efforts of the winners and wished them success for future endeavours.

Government Schools Participate in Eco Drive



Bharat Prakash Foundation, Chandigarh in collaboration with FORCE, Delhi and LG started an awareness the campaign in May 2019 to sensitize the students, teachers and the public in large about the menace of use of single-use plastic and increasing scarcity of clean water.

Five  government schools across Chandigarh were selected for various activities such as teachers training, tree plantation, rallies, poster making, model making, drawing competition, essay writing, interactive and motivational lectures were organized in each school for increasing awareness among the students to cut down on plastic and save water.

Mrs Anujit Kaur, District Education Officer, Chandigarh graced the joint Exhibition on 8th August 2019 in Govt Model Senior Secondary School Sector37 B Chandigarh.

The awardees include Palak, Anjali, Sanya, Anshul from GMHS -36D, Aaryan, Sukreta, Trisha, Aman Goswami from GMSSS-37B, Samson, Aarti, Aashish from GMHS - 42B and Devinder form GMSSS-22 A.

Mrs. Neena Singh, of Bharat Prakarsh Foundation informed that  'No Plastic rally" was also flagged off by DEO, and students enacted three Nukkad Nataks in the marketplace to sensitize community about the dangers of using plastic.

Gurukul World School, Mohali and Bhavan Vidyalaya, Chandigarh declared second and third respectively

In the Inter-School Sanskrit Shloka recitation competition held at Sri Aurobindo School of Integral Education around 100 students from different schools participated in the competition.

It was a group competition meant for classes IV to VIII in which DAV School, Sector 15 was adjudged the winner, while Gurukul World School Mohali and Bhavan Vidyalaya Chandigarh were declared second and third respectively.

The flawless chanting of Sanskrit shlokas from scriptures like Bhagwad Gita and Ramayana left everyone spellbound which was adjudged by eminent Sanskrit Scholar and National Award winner Ram Diya Shastri, as well as another Sanskrit scholar Prashant Rao.

School Chairman Arvind Mehan and the Principal Garima S Bhardwaj lauded the efforts of all the participants and congratulated the winners who were awarded with trophies and the certificates.

श्री अरबिंदो स्कूल ऑफ इंटीग्रल एजुकेशन में आयोजित इंटर-स्कूल संस्कृत श्लोका पाठ प्रतियोगिता में विभिन्न स्कूलों के लगभग 100 छात्रों ने भाग लिया।

यह चतुर्थ से आठवीं कक्षा के लिए एक समूह प्रतियोगिता थी जिसमें डीएवी स्कूल, सेक्टर 15 की टीम विजेता रही, और गुरुकुल वर्ल्ड स्कूल  मोहाली और भवन विद्यालय चंडीगढ़ को क्रमशः दूसरा और तीसरा स्थान प्राप्त हुआ

भगवद् गीता और रामायण जैसे शास्त्रों से संस्कृत श्लोकों के निर्दोष जप ने सभी को मंत्रमुग्ध कर दिया, जिसे प्रख्यात संस्कृत विद्वान और राष्ट्रीय पुरस्कार विजेता राम दीया शास्त्री, और साथ ही एक अन्य संस्कृत विद्वान प्रशांत राव ने जज किया.

स्कूल के चेयरमैन अरविंद मेहन और प्रिंसिपल गरिमा एस भारद्वाज ने सभी प्रतिभागियों के प्रयासों की सराहना की और ट्रॉफी और प्रमाणपत्रों से सम्मानित किया

Inter-School Express Train of Concepts Competition at Sri Aurobindo School

Gurukul Global, Saupin's and Chitkara International schools shine
Chandigarh 7 August: Sri Aurobindo School of Integral Education organised the Express Train of Concepts competition here today.
Seventeen schools of Tricity participated from Class III to VIII, involving written round, science lab round, computer lab round and other activities.
School Principal Garima Bhardwaj informed that the competition is aimed at enhancing creativity, agility and quick thinking ability.
In Category A (Class III-IV), Gurukul Global School was adjudged the winner. RIMT World School and AKSIPS - 41 bagged the 2nd and 3rd prizes respectively.
 In Category B (Class V-VI), Saupin's School was declared the winner whereas Gurukul Global School and Chitkara International School won the 2nd and 3rd prizes respectively.
In category C (Class VII-VIII), Chitkara International School won the 1st prize and Manav Mangal High School, Sector 21 won the 2nd prize. 3rd prize was clinched by AKSIPS - 41.
The four-days inter-school competitions are being organised as part of the Silver Jubilee celebration of Sri Aurobindo School.

Later School Chairman Arvind Mehan gave away the prizes to the winning teams.
