Slam Poetry Competition held
As a precursor to the 7th Edition of Literati 2019, the annual lit fest organised by Chandigarh Literary Society, a slam poetry competition was held at GGD SD College, Sector 32 Chandigarh.
Twenty two participants expressed their emotional outpouring on the theme, "The Wall that Never Was", a metaphor that restricts the youth from believing in themselves and becoming the best version of themselves.
Slam poetry which evolved in 1980s in Chicago, is the most popular literary activity in which the audience becomes a participant and give scores to the performers, informed CLS representative and author Lily Swarn.
Lakshya, Ridhi and Rudrakshi were adjudged the first, second, and third respectively through a secret ballot and results were announced by Dr Balraj Thapar, Principal, and Prof Anirudh Joshi, the general Secretary of the GGDSD Literary Society.
