Bhavan Vidyalaya bids Farewell to outgoing students of Class XII

27th December 2019: The students of Class XI bid a hearty farewell to their beloved seniors on 24thof December 2019, at Forest Hill Resorts, Nayagaon.

The showstopper of the event was the ramp walk as dapper boys and graceful girls elegantly walked the ram.

The much awaited results were then declared with the title of Ms Bhavan won by Shreya Talwar of XII A2 and the title of Mr Bhavan being awarded to Udayveer of XII A2.

Avnika Bahuguna of XII A2 was declared Ms Elegant while Angad Bawa of XII B won the title of Mr Dashing.

 Vishar Malik of XII A2 was declared Mr Handsome whereas Anjali Bhardwaj of XII C1 won the title of Ms Charming.

कक्षा XI के छात्रों ने 27 दिसंबर 2019 को फारेस्ट हिल रिसोर्ट, नयागांव में अपने प्रिय वरिष्ठ नागरिकों को हार्दिक बधाई दी। इस कार्यक्रम का शो स्टॉपर रैम्प वॉक था, जो कि डैपर लड़कों और सुंदर लड़कियों ने भव्य रूप से रैम्प वॉक की। बहुप्रतीक्षित परिणाम बारहवीं 2 की श्रेया तलवार द्वारा जीते गए भवन के खिताब के साथ घोषित किए गए थे और श्री भवन के शीर्षक को बारहवीं 2 के उदयवीर से सम्मानित किया गया था। XII A2 की अविका बहुगुणा को मिस एलिगेंट घोषित किया गया, जबकि XII B के अंगद बावा ने मिस्टर डैशिंग का खिताब जीता।  बारहवीं 2 के विशाल मलिक को मिस्टर हैंडसम घोषित किया गया, जबकि बारहवीं सी 1 की अंजलि भारद्वाज ने मिस चार्मिंग का खिताब जीता।

Rising Star Shuttler Devika Sihag does Bhavan Proud

Bags Bronze at U-15 National Sub-Junior Championships
24th December 2019: Devika Sihag of Bhavan Vidyalaya Chandigarh has won two medals at the coveted National Sub-Junior Championships at Bhubaneshwar.
 Clinching a bronze in the U-15 singles, she also bagged the gold in the U-17 doubles contest, as she joined hands with Ridhi Kaur Toor of the Tricity.
The duo upset second seeds Pranavi N and Sarumathi V 14-21, 21-18, 21-18 in the finals.
Devika was handpicked by the Prakash Padukone Badminton Academy in Bengaluru on the basis of her performance in the national circuit last year, while she was training under Mr. Rohit Mandhan.
'I started playing badminton for recreational purpose as an 8-year old. However, I developed interest in the sport after participating in various tournaments. I improved a lot under Mandhan Sir' says the dazzling 14-year old.
 It has been six months at the Bangalore Academy for Devika, who already notices a change in her approach.
Devika credits her school, Bhavan Vidyalaya Chandigarh for aiding her in balancing her studies and sport and letting her focus on the game.
Earlier this year, Devika won a bronze medal in the U-15 ranking tournament at Imphal and also won the gold medals in the U-17 and U-19 doubles competition. Devika will now represent Harayana in the BAI U -19 National Championships starting today at Rajahmundry Andhra Pradesh.

Bhavan Old Students donate to the underprivileged

23rd December 2019: Bhavan's Old Students Society (BOSS), the alumni organisation of Bhavan Vidyalaya, Chandigarh, BOSS donated school bags, water bottles, warm caps and refreshments to Udaan.
Udaan . is a project initiative by Bhavan Vidyalaya that caters to the needs of students from the economically weaker sections and special cell of the school.
Sensitive to its social and moral responsibilities, the school has been running Udaan-an evening school for children who belong to economically weaker sections of the society since 2014. The initiative caters to about 50 students who come from underprivileged homes, who face the risk of dropping out due to family circumstances. Informed Senior Principal Mrs. Vineeta Arora.
 Principal Junior School, Mrs. Soma Mukhopadhay and Vice Principal Mrs. Suparna Bansal also joined members of BOSS in this initiative.

I Stories: A Bhavan Alum Initiative

20th December 2019: Bhavan Vidyalaya is proud to have distinguished and worthy alumni who have proven themselves in various fields. From ingenious ideas to game changing business ventures, these ex-Bhavanites are the true representation of education offered by their alma- mater, excellence plus character.
Showcasing the achievements of these Alumni is the new inventive venture by BOSS (Bhavan's Old Students Society) - a chat show, I Stories. An original BOSS initiative, this talk show will help alumni share their success stories and the journey that led them onwards and upwards. 'I stands for Inspiration, Ideas that trigger viewers make a change. It will cover anecdotes of the lives of our alumni, their hopes, aspirations, relationships and how they tackled success and failure,' says Mr. Vinay Aggarwal, President, BOSS.
The first guest in this initiative is Mr. Karan Mahajan, Managing Partner, Durga Seeds, Chandigarh, Founder partner, Startup Seed Delivery LLP and Leaf & Life. Ted X Speaker and Member of the Executive Committee of Northern Seed Association, Karan's initiatives have been towards making heirloom seed varieties available across the world and teaching people the art of growing healthy, pesticide free food. His agricultural initiative Leaf & Life supplies microgreens to households and restaurants. His ethos has been simple – Easy Accessibility to Nutrition. A thoroughbred Bhavanite, Karan credits his alma mater for giving him the vision and the strength to see big, think out of the box and take action.  
This is the first of many chapters that I Stories will uncover.
I Stories will be available on Facebook, Instagram and other social media platforms as well as the school website .

Interact Club spreads Christmas cheer at Samarpan Foundation

21st December 2019: The students of the Interact Club of Bhavan Vidyalaya, Chandigarh visited Samarpan Foundation near Nada Sahib  to celebrate Christmas with the children there.

A not-for-profit entity, Samarpan Foundation works to support various humanitarian causes, and its Chandigarh unit  houses over 180 children, empowering them with education, healthcare and shelter.

The Interactors spread Christmas cheer  by singing jingles and dancing with the youngsters.

They also distributed fresh woollens, candies and biscuits, ringing in the true spirit of the festival.

The youth arm of the Rotary Club, the Interact Club at Bhavan has constantly strived to provided students a strong foundation in service, compassion and humanity.

Bhavan Team tops the country in All India Map Quiz

Bhavan Vidyalaya Chandigarh has won the first prize at the All India Map Quiz organized by the Survey of India.

Bhavan's team comprising Aditya Dubey,  Harsh Jakhar and Daksh Mehta of Grade X, won the first prize among 300 schools which participated in this competition.

The team was awarded a trophy and certificate at the prestigious 39th INCA International Congress, held at Dehradun yesterday, informed. Senior Principal Mrs. Vineeta Arora who applauded the efforts of the teams and congratulated the winning team in the School assembly.

Authors awarded by A3 Foundation

A3 Foundation honours eight authors 
Chandigarh, 7 Dec:   City based A3 Foundation engaged in promoting art, culture and architecture, conferred awards on eight authors from different genre here today. 
At a function organized in the Le Corbusier Centre, the foundation recognized the literary stalwarts from the city and outside with its Lit -Archi Awards 2019. 
A3 Foundation, for the last fifteen years head been promoting art and architecture, and instituted the awards for the authors this year, to showcase and acknowledge their work and share their journey for the budding writers. 
The founder of A3 Foundation, architect, author, speaker, Sangeet Sharma, said that this award is meant to encourage more and more young authors to take to writing and not only share their creativity but also chronicle the culture of our times for the generations to come. 
Those honoured on the occasion included pioneer in recording the inspirational biographies of ordinary people with extraordinary accomplishments, Aneesh Bhanot, the brother of legendary and brave air hostess Bhanot. 
Aniket Singh for his historical fiction, 'CHAKRAVYUH Though the ages of the warrior'                 and another young author gyg meof 16 years, Manasvi Sharma shared her debut work 'Awful Me'.
Rahul Saini for his satirical work 'Paperback Dreams',  Reshma K Barshikar for her children fiction ' The Hidden Children: The Lost Grimoire', Dr Rupa Raje Gupta for her architectural work ''The Courtyard Wada of Maharashtra'                 '
Dr Shivani Khetan's self-help book on healing 'Tarot A Healing tool in Modern times'       , and Suditi Jindal, a best-selling author of two fictions 'Grow up Moon' and 'Adulteress', received the awards. 
Present on the occasion included various dignitaries of the city including 
A3 Foundation which had conducted an essay writing competition nationwide and great response was generated. Almost 65 entries out of which six best were awarded. winners.
The Chief Guest of the function was Ar SD Sharma, an eminent architect  and the guests of honor was Ar Surinder Bahga, a noted author and architect.

Special Children win Roller Skating State Championship

Chandigarh, 6th December 2019: Special Olympics Bharat, Chandigarh conducted the State Roller Skating Championship at Bhavan Vidyalaya, Chandigarh on the 5th of December 2019. The students of the special cell made the school proud by winning medals in the 100 metre, 300 metre and 500 metre Rink Races.
The winners in the various categories are as follows:
